Self-hosting at a glance
What runs on your server, what stays with FlowX, what you need, and how long it takes.

Who does what
- On your server: tasks, requests, approvals, projects, comments, documents, uploaded files, the audit log and the backups.
- With FlowX: sign-in (password, two-factor, passkeys, Google, Microsoft), the people in the workspace and their roles, seats, the plan and billing, and the updates.
- What your server sends FlowX: one report a day with 16 listed fields (version, health, counts, server time), plus a check every minute that carries only the server's id. No user records and no content. Settings → Server lists every field.
What you need
- The Self-hosting add-on on your cloud workspace. Eligible plans and prices are on the pricing page.
- One Linux server: Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04, Debian 12 or the RHEL 9 family, with 4 CPUs, 8 GB RAM and 50 GB SSD recommended (it runs on 2 CPUs, 4 GB and 20 GB, slowly under load).
- A name such as flowx.yourcompany.com pointing at the server, ports 80 and 443 open to your users, and outbound HTTPS to license.flowx.ninja and get.flowx.ninja. Nothing from FlowX connects in.
How long it takes
In our customer test the install itself took 1 minute 47 seconds on a 2-CPU server that already had Docker; an update took 70 to 90 seconds. Plan 15 minutes for the first time, including DNS and reading the questions.
A new server starts empty: tasks, requests and files in your cloud workspace do not move to it by themselves. Contact support before you switch if you need them there.
