Run and update your server

Updating

Run sudo flowx upgrade inside your maintenance window. It shows a maintenance page, takes a verified encrypted backup, updates, migrates the database and checks the new version. If the new version does not start, it rolls back by itself; the previous version is kept for sudo flowx rollback.

• The upgrade updates the flowx command itself first, so installer fixes reach you too. If your server's flowx is older than 0.1.26 (check with flowx version), update it once with: curl -fsSL https://get.flowx.ninja | sh -s -- --cli-only.
• FlowX shows the new version on your Self-hosting page within seconds of the upgrade finishing.

Everyday commands

• sudo flowx status — what is running, the version and the last backup.
• sudo flowx doctor — a full checklist with a fix for each problem it finds.
• sudo flowx logs api --tail 200 — the latest log lines of one service.
• sudo flowx backup now and sudo flowx backup list — an extra verified backup, and the ones you have.
• sudo flowx export — everything in standard formats, for a copy or when you leave.

Backups

The server backs itself up every day, encrypts each backup to the key on your recovery sheet and checks it can be read back. Keep copies off the server too. A restore (sudo flowx restore) needs that key, and FlowX cannot recover it for you.

When FlowX can't be reached, or a payment lapses

• Sessions already open keep working; new sign-ins wait until FlowX answers again.
• A read-only emergency admin, whose password is on your recovery sheet, lets you read and export meanwhile; every use is logged (manage it with sudo flowx break-glass).
• If the add-on lapses, the licence is not renewed and the server becomes read-only after a grace period. Your data is never locked, and export always works.

Billing, people and support

• Plan, seats, add-ons and invoices stay in your FlowX account; Settings → Billing on the server links there.
• Add and remove people as you do today: FlowX keeps the list, and someone removed there can no longer sign in to your server.
• FlowX staff can reach your server only inside a support window your admin opens (at most 4 hours); every request in it is logged on your server.
